How many people do you know with shoulder issues? As I get older the number of people I see with shoulder injuries is increasing more and more. It is likely to be due to years of bad posture, being slumped over our desks at work or possibly spending too much time on iPhones!
It’s imperative, even when the shoulder joint is tight or sore, that we keep moving it. Moving through the natural motion of the shoulder’s ball and socket joint is going to keep blood flowing in the area, keep the cartilage strong and eventually increase the range of motion in that area. As a rule, I say people should lift objects above their head every single day to keep the joint moving well.[Tweet “[email protected] you shoulder pain – I’m trying these awesome @fitnchip moblity drills! #hellyeah”]
There are a number of mobility drills you can try to improve shoulder health, but here is one of my favourite ways to access full mobility in the joint. You should try this movement a minimum of 10 times on each side, more if you can handle it! Watch the vidoe, listen to my cute accent, then try it and let me know what you think!
Now that your shoulders are all warmed up – are you interested in joining myself, Annmarie from The Fit Foodie Mama and Kari from Kariofitness in a fun Instagram challenge? Running for just 10 days, we are focusing exercises around strength and conditioning, but with a little twist. We have called the challenge #POSTfitnesslove which runs from 15th – 26th February. Each day one of us will post our exercise in our own little Instagram square, and your challenge is to do this exercise then (Pass On Some Training = POST) to a friend. You simply add another exercise onto the one we provide and tag a friend, its going to be a lot of fun. We also have some very neat sponsors, so you could be eligible to win some cool swag.
For now, all you have to do, is head over to Instagram here, and make sure you are following all 3 hosts and Sponsors, then just sit back and wait until 15th for your first exercise.
